Track and Field Assistant Coach Kelly Hyer has been named the Class AA Assistant Coach of the Year

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Jordan High School is thrilled to announce Track and Field Assistant Coach Kelly Hyer has been named the Class AA Assistant Coach of the Year by the Minnesota State Track and Field Coaches Association (MSTCA).

The state level award is voted on by peers within the MSTCA. Hyer’s selection comes after first being named one of eight section winners across Minnesota, making her a finalist among the top assistant coaches in the state. Out of all Class AA programs statewide, she was chosen as the single honoree for AA.

A long-time cornerstone of the Jordan Track and Field program coaching staff, Hyer specializes in coaching the team's hurdle events. Over her tenure, her dedicated work with student athletes has helped refine technique, foster grit, and elevate performance in one of the sport's most technically demanding disciplines.

The MSTCA recognizes only three assistant coaches statewide each year—one for each of Minnesota’s three competitive classes (Class A, AA, and AAA). Hyer's selection highlights not only her technical expertise over the hurdles, but also her long-standing commitment to the Jordan Public Schools community and the growth of its students and athletes.
