Girls Varsity Golf Assistant Coach Nate Steele and Varsity Track & Field Assistant Coach Kelly Hyer have been named section 2AA Assistant Coaches of the Year
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Jordan High School (JHS) is thrilled to announce Girls Varsity Golf Assistant Coach Nate Steele and Varsity Track & Field Assistant Coach Kelly Hyer have been named section 2AA Assistant Coaches of the Year in their respective sports.
“We are so fortunate to have both Coach Steele and Coach Hyer leading within our Girls Golf and Track & Field programs, hopefully for years to come. While their expertise in their respective sports are obvious, what stands out about each of them is their emotional intelligence and care for the whole person that is each of their student-athletes. Each of them is highly deserving of this honor,” said John Buteyn, Activities Director at Jordan Public Schools.
Coach Steele just completed his sixth season with the Jaguar Golf program, and has played an instrumental role in supporting the program’s success during that time. He also serves as the Head Girls Soccer Coach in the fall and is a teacher at Jordan Middle School.
Coach Hyer just completed her eighth season with the Jordan Track & Field program. Her specialty is coaching the Hubmen and Jaguar hurdlers. Three individuals have qualified for the state meet in the hurdles during her tenure, including Owen Halvorson and Maya Hage this season. She is a teacher at Jordan Middle School.

The halls of each of our school buildings were filled with an excited energy last week as students across all grade levels gathered for a mental health presentation from guest speaker, Tara Soesbe from Till 360.
